Continued – Life of the mannequins

Start: 12.04.2019, Time: 7:30 pm

Address: 29 Grodzka street

Artist

Marian Gołogórski

Curator

Marian Gołogórski

Event description

The exhibition is a continuation of Marian Gołogórski’s two previous projects – the Rolling, unrolling and rolling again performance and the Second reveal display. The artist delves into the condition of humanity in its struggle with life and wonders where does this fight lead us and whether it has any sense at all. Maybe it will all end up in a never-ending events repetition? While this topic is both interesting artistically and unsolvable for the creator, it is worth considering where and how we are all going.

Gallery description

In existance since 1983, Marian Gołogórski Author’s Gallery is the oldest privately owned gallery in Cracow and one of the oldest in Poland. From the beginning it really is an ‘author’s’ gallery, through showcasing works either created by the owner – a sculptor, painter, designer of artistic glass, fashion and jewelery, or chosen personally by him works of artists cooperating with the gallery.
This space was a starting point for the artistic careers of such artists as Jacek Sroka, Wiesław Obrzydowski, Andrzej Folfas and Anna Sobol Wejman. Others, like Witold Damasiewicz, Eugeniusz Mucha or Jerzy Panek, had been brought back to memory.
