Event description

The exhibition’s title refers to the idea of ‘color games’ associated with kapists (the artist studied under Nacht-Samborski). Lately there was a change in Kraszewska’s work. Her sketchbooks are being filled with abstract compositions with expressive form and strong colors. These abstract records of everyday moods hit the viewer with energy and liveliness. The means are modest – only a sheet of paper and color pens, however the results are extraordinarily vital. New works of this 78year old artist confirm that art is still an open concept.

Gallery description

The gallery exists in Cafe Dym since 1997. It’s a legendary meeting point of Cracow’s cultural and artistic bohemia. The gallery is incorporated into the space of the cafe and its owners support interdisciplinary ideas and dedicate two well lit walls (or even the entire interior if needed) to befriended artists or those recommended by their friends. The gallery showcases photography, installations, sculptures, applied art and rarely painting. Among others, Zbigniew Bielawka, Marta Bożyk, Brygida Serafin, Aleksander Siemaszko, Marcin Rząsa, Malinowska-Petelenz, Andrzej Franaszek, Andrzej Andzik Kowalczyk, Jacek Maria Stokłosa had their works shown in Cafe Dym.
