DESCRIPTION
On the occasion of Cracow Art Week Krakers 2024, C u at Sadka (Cracow) is inaugurating a series of three exhibitions with +DEDE (Berlin) and DOC (Paris).
The first part, titled “Curara de Carrera,” will take the entire C U AT SADKA space and show the results of collaborative work of the three design spaces. Building a welcoming and literally supportive, caring structure, artists and cultural practitioners with diverse horizons will be invited to add, modify, transform, play and show their own work in this temporary sphere.
PERFORMANCE
- Eclectic Taste of Bot
- Tiny Towel
Eclectic Taste of Bot is a visual artist, DJ and club architect, interested in experimenting with new dance formats, aesthetics and event production. Lives between Berlin and Bangkok. Co-founder of You Said You Like Dancing Collective.
Tiny Towel presents the second installment of the secret beach bar, after the secluded beaches and dramatic cliffs of Mallorca, this episode takes a darker turn on the shores of Sihanoukville, Cambodia. After a trip visiting the tropical coastal region and its islands in 2018, Tiny Towel came across an investigative podcast inquiring on the Chinese Mafia ring running casinos and failed real estate projects in the area. Often preying on vulnerable individuals in South East Asia and luring them into their scam labor camps.
Before listening to this podcast, Tiny Towel came across such a place in Sihanoukville, where a development project was grabbing the land and fencing it to prevent anyone from coming in, but also, as it turns out, from leaving.
The work presented at C U AT SADKA is made of contemporary tracks across the genres of ambient, bass, footwork and older folk and traditional songs, intertwined and held together by personal and artist’s field recordings.
GALLERY INFO
C U AT SADKA is a place set up by two artists: Agnieszka and Michael Biber. It is located in the suburbs of Cracow on 12 Sadka Street, from which the name comes. C U AT SADKA first existed as a concept of a place gathering artists from around the world. The old house, laboriously renovated by two artists from Berlin, became a venue for contemporary art exhibitions in October 2021. Although Agnieszka and Michael deal with visual art, when organizing exhibitions they do not want to limit themselves to its definition.
