DESCRIPTION
The exhibition, following the festival’s main theme of “feel, feel, keep feeling,” focuses on the psychologization of the work of contemporary artists.
However, instead of focusing on negative or traumatic experiences, we decided to create a multimedia space filled with positive experiences, things that make you happy, make you laugh or inspire you to look at the world with optimism. Excessive psychologization can take away from the viewer the power and energy to interpret the works themselves, or to face the world around them. Therefore, we are keen to emphasize the importance of maintaining a balance, between reflecting on difficult topics and deriving joy and inspiration from positive experiences. Wanting to inspire the younger generation, we will focus on positive stimuli to create a space where viewers can find joy and inspiration, while maintaining respect for topics involving difficult emotions.
GALLERY INFO
Betel has been operating since 2010 in an annex at Plac Szczepański 3 in Cracow. During the day the interior of the premises is bright thanks to large glass windows, and it is also spacious and high, allowing for various types of events. Inside there is also a smaller, more intimate room, and a mezzanine that is perfect for relaxation. In the courtyard there is a sizable garden, which is open all year round. The club hosts exhibitions of paintings, prints, and photography, concerts and events with DJs. Betel continuously cooperates with such organizations and institutions as Kino Pod Baranami, Fundacja Dla KINA, Krakowskie Biuro Festiwalowe, Front Row Heroes Foundation, Tone Foundation For Music & New Art Forms, and Foundation for Visual Arts
