Event description
Wanda Ładniewska was taken to KL Auschwitz-Birkenau during the war. She was marked with the number 38091. The digits sum to 21 which, according one of other prisoners, was supposed to guarantee her survival. And she survived, thanks to the ability to make precision drawings, which was used by the nazi researchers working with the microscope. After the war has ended she worked with the Lambert Gallery in Paris and her art was her way to deal with the Holocaust. After we presented the Artist’s sculptures in 2013 we’re now showing her works on paper.
