DESCRIPTION
The outlet for Krzysztof Majewski’s creative and emotional expression are his situational drawings. It is a kind of a diary of events that helps him relieve the heightened state of feelings, tensions and frustrations and allows him to talk about current experiences, thoughts and desires in a camouflaged form. The well-drawn compositions, based on imagination and absurdity, seem humorous, but the replacement of experienced or imagined scenes with grotesquely processed forms is an attempt to deal with complicated experiences.
GALLERY INFO
The Outsider Art Research Station, located at 29 Kalwaryjska Street in Cracow, was founded in October 2018, as an outpost of The dr. Andrzej Kowal Psychiatry and Art Association. It is a place where professional art, art brut and outsider art meet, as well as creators, theorists, hobbyists and the public. It is an exhibition and research institution, a gallery and a library. It collects and archives the achievements of artists, presents movies about them, organizes art workshops, competitions and consultations. It initiates activities that popularize broadly understood visual expression in a wide and complex range.
