Just before falling asleep, the logical thought process shifts to intuitive thought processes that are open to interpretation. This state is neither a dream nor a state of being awake. It is, in the process of sleep, a kind of “in-between”, where two spheres intermingle – the public, related to everyday experiences, and the private, related to personal needs. The exhibition “Milk like smoke” is about the liminal states associated with falling asleep. For us, working with these visions is an intimate practice of mindfulness, in which the dreamer takes care of their own consciousness.

Gaya Barcikowska invites artists and creators from the Mosaic Group to her studio. Together they are creating the exhibition “Milk like smoke.” It is an initiative that brings together male and female artists of different generations working in the building of the former Salt Warehouse, a place of energy exchange and creative activities.
