DESCRIPTION
The villa at St. Bronisławy Street and its surroundings are an ecotone, i.e. a place on the border of ecosystems – the city and the forest; it creates a world of symbiotic relationships between humans and animals. Although in the era of the “Anthropocene stagnation” it is difficult to find ecologically engaged and at the same time optimistic art, in opposition to catastrophic tendencies, there are affirmative approaches that characterize many works at the exhibition. The artists postulate sensory refreshment consisting in joining the vitality of nature and trying to look at the world from a bird’s perspective.
GALLERY INFO
Center of Contemporary Art “Wiewiórka” – a polymorphic space of intersecting social initiatives; a place of numerous exhibitions, unwaveringly present in the life of Podgórze and Cracow. The ornithological exhibition is presented in the modernist Villa in Salwator. The artists Bogumił Książek, Cecylia Malik, Anna Stankiewicz and Bartolomeo Koczenasz open the windows to the chirping of birds. They open studios for an impressive group of artists and the public. The CCA “Wiewiórka” exhibition is organized together with the artists of the Faculty of Art of the Pedagogical University of Cracow.
