Event description

Aristotle said that all that is in motion is being put in motion by something else and it seems that the reason for the movement might be inside the object, be its nature, or be external. However, it all forms a chain of causes with the primary one, the primus motor, at its end. What is interesting, is the occurrence of the movement itself, a transfer from the possible to the made – the action. In its most basic form motion is a change of the object and its position in relation to the chosen reference and as an elementary phenomenon is also special. Maybe this is why Charles Baudelaire said ‘I hate the movement that distorts lines’? In 1933 Ralph Steiner created the Mechanical Principles, showing admiration for the moving parts of various devices.
The exhibition takes place in a factory building, where first measuring devices and later on telecommunication equipment was produced.
