Czy zakupy mogą mieć charakter łowiecko-zbieracki? Kupujemy towary nie tylko te niezbędne do życia, ale także te, które wydają nam się ciekawe w przekonaniu o ich zróżnicowaniu. Klienci polują na „promki” i wymieniają się na gadżety dołączone do produktów. W tej kategorii może pojawić się talizman – powstały z połączenia fenomenu „viralowych mystery-boxów” oraz przekonania o drzemiącej w nim magicznej sile. W obu przypadkach występuje element zależności ekonomicznej, który poprzez konsumpcję – przenosi nas na inny poziom świadomości.
Can shopping be hunter-gatherer in nature? We buy goods not only those essential to life, but also those that seem interesting to us, convinced of their diversity. Customers hunt for „sale” and exchange gadgets included with products. A talisman might appear in this category – resulting from the combination of the phenomenon of „viral mystery boxes” and the belief in its magical power. In both cases, there is an element of economic dependence, which, through consumption, transports us to a different level of consciousness.
O GALERII
„Opcja” to Galeria nie mająca stałej przestrzeni wystawienniczej. Jest bytem nomadycznym, dopasowuje się i improwizuje, łamiąc standardy i konwencje… Galeria powstała w 2013 roku na Wydziale Intermediów ASP w Krakowie i jest otwarta na prezentacje ciekawych projektów spoza obszaru uczelni jak festiwale, wykłady, pokazy czy konkursy oraz dla działań wewnątrz wydziału. Opiekunem galerii do 2023 roku był Mariusz Sołtysik, a od 2024 r. dołączyła Estera Gałuszka. W latach 2013— 2026 r. odbyło się 60 wystaw. Proponowane formuły wystaw polegały na wzajemnej relacji w stosunku do miejsca i wybranego tematu / zjawiska. Chodzi o partnerską i relacyjną, wzajemnie dopełniającą lub dyskutującą ze sobą realizację. Formuła nie zakłada skończonego dzieła, a proces jest traktowany jako immanentna część realizacji. Obecnie wystawy odbywają się w cyklu nieregularnym, choć główne założenia pozostały niezmienione. Najchętniej widziany jest, gest, proces lub wybrany aspekt merytoryczny. Galeria jest opiekunką międzynarodowego konkursu na dzieło intermedialne ICIA.
„Opcja” is a gallery without a permanent exhibition space. It is a nomadic entity, adapting and improvising, breaking standards and conventions… The gallery was established in 2013 at the Faculty of Intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and is open to the presentation of interesting projects from outside the university, such as festivals, lectures, shows, and competitions, as well as for activities within the department. Mariusz Sołtysik was the gallery’s curator until 2023, and Estera Gałuszka joined in 2024. Between 2013 and 2026, 60 exhibitions were held. The proposed exhibition formats were based on a mutual relationship with the venue and the chosen theme/phenomenon. The goal is to achieve a collaborative and relational approach, complementing or even intertwining the projects. The format does not assume a finished work, and the process is treated as an inherent part of the project. Currently, exhibitions are held on an irregular basis, although the main assumptions remain unchanged. The most popular approach is to showcase a gesture, process, or selected substantive aspect. The gallery is the patron of the ICIA international competition for intermedia artwork.
